About Maud Chevalier
Maud Chevalier is a French perfumer who creates fine fragrance at Sozio's site in Seillans, in the south of France. Her work consistently begins with places she has travelled through and the smells she found there.
Career
She studied chemistry in Paris, and an internship at Firmenich at the age of twenty-two revealed perfumery to her as a profession; she then trained at ISIPCA. Speaking in 2025, she described having spent seven of her ten years in the industry at Sozio, where a 2022 company profile already placed her in alcoholic fine fragrance.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Travel is her main source of material, and she pays attention to unpleasant odours as readily as to pleasant ones — a market in Egypt, pine forests in Norway. Her process starts with discussing the brief alongside evaluators, then building a mood board that helps her carry a lived experience across into an accord.

- *Watermere 05.07* — created for Neydo from Yuna's dream of golden light seen from underwater, with grapefruit, pepper and bergamot over white flowers, rose and tea, with solar notes, violet and vetiver.
- *Captain Rossi* — a maritime voyage for Parfums Berry, opening on pink pepper, cardamom and rum before florals, cinnamon and geranium give way to tobacco, solar notes, musk, sandalwood and smoke.
