About Linda Song
Linda Song is a Korean American perfumer at Givaudan. She developed her career in New York and was also presented as based in Singapore in 2025. Her experience extends beyond fine fragrance to body care and candles, bringing different forms of scent into her work.
Career
An article about a chemist patenting a molecule for the beauty industry sparked her interest in applying her university studies to fragrance. She completed a master's degree at the fragrance school ISIPCA, joined Givaudan as a perfumer's assistant and subsequently trained at the company's perfumery school. She credits a continuing search for opportunities and the support of mentors with helping her find that path.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Working with different product bases and materials gives her new ways to think about ingredients. Family memories and her Korean heritage also inform that process. She connects the earthy, woody smell of ginseng with memories of her father drinking tea, and enjoys the combination of brightness and bitterness in yuzu. Personal experience offers a way of understanding materials, rather than a fixed recipe for every fragrance.
Signature Works
- *Maya* (TOCCA, 2018) — a floral combining blackcurrant and violet leaf with rose, wild iris and patchouli.
- *Cloud Daze* (ELOREA, 2025) — inspired by the Korean rice wine makgeolli, with a creamy impression joined by vanilla, rice and the sweetness of dalgona.
