About Joëlle Lerioux Patris

Joëlle Lerioux Patris is a French perfumer and the founder of Le Parfumeur Français. Attached to her native Pyrenees and shaped by years living in Asia, she combines technical knowledge of materials with attention to a client’s feelings and values. Her independent practice gives room to personal expression and careful collaboration.

Career

After years of disciplined dance training, she studied at ISIPCA in Versailles and graduated in 1998. She then entered MANE’s internal perfumery school. From 2001 she spent seven years in China and four in Indonesia. Returning to France in 2012, she worked in fine fragrance in Grasse and Paris, before establishing her own company in 2019.

Creative Approach

Her process begins with listening and taking time to understand the person behind a request. She values freedom of expression while regarding mastery of ingredients and technique as the means of making ideas tangible. Her Grasse studio and garden of aromatic plants also offer a setting for sharing knowledge and experiencing odors directly.

Signature Works

  • *LE SNOB No I Gothic Rose* (Les Parfums de Rosine) — Rose meets the distinctive texture of natural rubber, leather and resins.
  • *Colonia Mirra* (Acqua di Parma) — Bright citrus and resinous myrrh form a composition with a deeper, warmer finish.
