Career

Summer jasmine picking introduced him to the living source of perfume materials, and an apprenticeship with an experienced perfumer turned that familiarity into a profession. He began working with Molton Brown in the 1990s and became an architect of its olfactory identity. *Re-charge Black Pepper* grew from a personal, unsolicited experiment and became one of the house’s defining fragrances, illustrating the importance he places on curiosity beyond the formal brief.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Chabert starts from a craftsman’s attention to raw materials, then builds a dramatic but lucid path from opening to trail. Pepper can feel expansive without becoming harsh; white flowers can be lush without losing shape; pine and patchouli can suggest a whole landscape while remaining wearable. His signatures rely on a strong central material and carefully judged supporting contrasts, so richness never dissolves into an indistinct mass.
