About Emilio Valeros

Emilio Valeros is a Madrid-born perfumer who served for more than three decades as technical director and creative nose for Loewe. He describes perfume as the most persistent form of memory, connecting Spanish landscape and craft continuity with formula.

Career

Raised by a father who mixed formulas in a fragrance laboratory, Valeros studied chemistry and completed further training in Paris and Grasse. He led many of Loewe's fragrance projects over a long in-house career before passing creative responsibility to Nuria Cruelles in 2019.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Material knowledge was connected to the house's leather heritage, craft, Spanish light, and native plants. Rather than changing signature with each trend, he built an olfactory lineage across decades. His work to develop lavender cultivation and advanced distillation in Brihuega also joined ingredient quality with regional industry and environmental responsibility, refusing to separate memory, raw material, and production.

Signature Works

  • *Solo Loewe* — Aromatic contrasts shaping a distinctly Spanish play of light and shadow.
  • *Loewe 001* — A series translating human distance and skin warmth into woods and musk.
