Career

She studied raw materials, formulation, and evaluation at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery before moving into professional fine-fragrance creation. Her name is closely associated with Molton Brown’s *Tobacco Absolute*, and her portfolio also includes floral, citrus, and gourmand-leaning work for Santa Maria Novella. Together these projects show a perfumer able to move between a forceful modern theme and the interpretation of a historic house.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Chabert does not equate a powerful material with sheer density. She gives tobacco, resins, florals, and citrus a sense of heat, light, and breathing room, allowing the main idea to remain recognizable as the fragrance develops. In *Tobacco Absolute*, ginger and cedar articulate the tobacco leaf rather than bury it; in her floral work, the plant remains vivid while the composition becomes smooth and readable on skin.
