About Elizabeth Liau
Elizabeth Liau is the Singapore-born founder, perfumer, and creative director of Maison de L'Asie. She resists treating Asia as a fixed exotic image, respecting tradition while creating space for a modern wearer to enter with a personal story.
Career
Liau left home at eighteen and lived in Dubai, New York, London, Australia, and elsewhere, working across finance and the arts. Collecting niche fragrance during travel refined her palate over roughly two decades; experiments with her own blends then revealed scent's ability to translate emotion. Returning to Singapore prompted the creation of her house.
Creative Style & Philosophy
She begins with the final emotion and visual image, then works backward to select materials and development. High concentration is not equated with loudness; projection can remain discreet while meaning unfolds slowly on skin. Music, cinema, art, and observation become stories and questions able to cross geographic boundaries.
