About Elise Pierre

Elise Pierre is a perfumer at CPL Aromas who grew up in Normandy, France. Memories of the sea, surrounding fields and flowers in her family's garden formed the beginning of her interest in smell and remain a personal point of reference for her work.

Career

She discovered the profession at eleven, studied chemistry and went on to complete a master's degree at ISIPCA, the fragrance and cosmetics school in Versailles. Joining CPL Aromas in the United Kingdom in 2017, she gained experience across departments including stability and evaluation before becoming part of the perfumery team in 2019. She returned to France in 2021 to work with the Paris team.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Travel, cultures and everyday life feed her imagination, alongside a fondness for violet notes recalling her childhood garden, orange blossom, sandalwood and cedar. Music accompanies the development of her ideas, and she challenges herself to turn materials she does not usually enjoy into fragrances she likes. Her experience evaluating scents and their behaviour in products provides a technical foundation for translating an imagined impression into a formula.

Signature Works

• *Forbidden Whisper*, for HFC Paris: jasmine and rose meet the softness of vanilla, musks and powdery notes.
• *Narcotic Desire*, for HFC Paris: apricot fruitiness is combined with oud, giving the woody character a supple expression.
