About Édouard Fléchier
Édouard Fléchier was a French perfumer regarded as one of the most creative of his generation. Natural olfactory sensitivity was never an excuse to rely on instinct alone; disciplined renewal of the fundamentals allowed precision and surprise to coexist.
Career
After studying science, Fléchier trained at the Roure perfumery school and quickly emerged as a prodigious talent. There he met Frédéric Malle, later becoming a godfather-like figure in perfumery to the publisher and maintaining a close creative partnership over many years.
Creative Style & Philosophy
He never skipped the morning ritual of smelling raw materials and refreshing his technical memory. The resulting formulas are exact and balanced, yet they do not simply reproduce tradition.
