Career
After studying at ISIPCA, Piquet joined IFF as a laboratory assistant at seventeen. She completed a six-year apprenticeship with perfumers including Jean-Pierre Mary and Alain Astori, rose through the company, and was appointed senior perfumer in 2007. She continued working on international projects until her death in 2010 at the age of forty-six.
Creative Style & Philosophy
She was skilled at giving bright florals, clean woods, musks, and amber effects a definite architecture. Asked about finding the fragrance of her dreams, she hoped she never would, because that would imply the search was over.
