Perfumers use sweet resin in amber, vanilla, incense, woody, leather, tobacco, floral, and gourmand bases. It can deepen sweetness, make fruit or flowers more evening-like, and give a fragrance a long soft trail. With spices, it becomes warm and textured; with musk, it becomes rounder and more skin-like.
