About Stone Accord

Stone accord takes the surfaces of stones and rocky surroundings as a fragrance subject. Smooth pebbles, rough rock faces and stones after rain provide different tactile references, allowing coolness and firmness to be translated into a scented idea. Within a scene containing soil and plants, the accord invites attention to the stonier surfaces around them and the way those surfaces shape the sense of place.

Scent Profile

**Cool, firm texture beside a drier mineral impression** offers a starting point for its character. Wood and roots provide a plant-like depth against which a cooler stony outline can appear, while warmer smoke or resin gives another way of exploring contrast through texture. A water impression can move the scene from drier rocks towards wet pebbles, allowing the same mineral subject to belong to several different scented surroundings.

Use in Perfumery

Stone accord can give a firmer outline to wood or place a cooler texture beside warmer smoke and resin. Greener leaves offer a connection to plants growing among rocks, while water creates another route towards a shoreline or stones after rainfall. Its interest comes from exploring relationships between different textures within a composition, much as looking at a collection of pebbles brings attention to differences in shape, surface and colour as well as their shared stony character.
