About Star Jasmine
In horticulture, star jasmine commonly refers to Trachelospermum jasminoides, an evergreen climber with glossy green leaves and small white flowers. Despite its name, it belongs to a different genus from true jasmine.
Scent Profile
The flowers have a rich, jasmine-like fragrance that can strongly perfume a summer garden. As a perfume note, the name points to an impression of white flowers.
Use in Perfumery
Andrea Maack lists star jasmine with petitgrain and crystal rose in the heart of Lightsource. It contributes a floral element within a composition that also names lemon, green fig and peppers. The published note name alone does not establish that an extract of the plant was used.
