About Mezcal
Mezcal is a Mexican spirit made from agave. In perfumery, an accord interprets an impression of the spirit’s aroma.
Scent Profile
Sweetness suggestive of cooked agave, fruit-like facets and earthy or smoky depth can provide starting points. The spirit itself varies with its raw materials and production methods, so intense smoke does not define every mezcal. A perfume interpretation can likewise emphasise brighter fruit or a darker smoky character.
Use in Perfumery
With lime and other citrus notes, the accord can evoke a spirit-based drink. Cacao, vanilla and woods offer ways to develop a deeper impression with sweetness. The name identifies an inspiration rather than a fixed formula, and does not establish that actual mezcal is present in a fragrance. Different compositions can explore quite different aspects of the same reference.
