About Kharismal
Kharismal is a synthetic aroma material made by IFF, belonging to the methyl dihydrojasmonate family and carrying a jasmine-like character. It is used as a synthetic fragrance ingredient rather than an essential oil extracted from flowers. Its value in a perfume comes both from its own floral character and from the way it contributes to the surrounding accord.
Scent Profile
Soft jasmine-like flowers meet a brighter citrus facet, with a slight fruitiness adding another nuance to the impression. Transparency and an airy, diffusive quality are central to its character. It can make a floral accord feel fuller and more naturally expansive while allowing the other materials to remain part of the overall impression.
Use in Perfumery
Perfumers use it to bring bloom and a sense of openness to floral compositions, particularly within the heart of a fragrance. Its applications also extend to chypres, fougères and contemporary fresh styles, where the same floral character can support the structure around it. Jasmine materials, linalool and citrus notes are useful companions, connecting the softness of flowers with a fresher character in the finished accord.
