About Kale
Kale is a leafy vegetable in the mustard family, sharing the species Brassica oleracea with cabbage. It is classified within the Kale Group. Varieties differ in leaf shape and colour, including curled green leaves, flatter leaves and red-tinged forms.
Scent Profile
In fragrance, the name points towards a leafy, vegetal green character. Against sweet fruit or richer flowers, it offers a way to picture the vivid presence of living leaves. The strength of that greenness and its impression of freshness depend on the surrounding composition.
Use in Perfumery
Kale can accompany citrus in a fresher opening or introduce a green accent to flowers. Within a blend that includes spices and woods, it can contribute a garden-like impression. The focus is on an aromatic interpretation of leafy greenness, rather than the flavour experienced when eating the vegetable.
