About Diviniris®
Diviniris® is a proprietary captive perfumery material developed by Symrise. Symrise’s own group management report explicitly calls it an iris-scented captive with velvety notes. It should therefore be distinguished from natural orris butter and from a generic iris accord: this is a supplier-identified proprietary ingredient whose detailed composition is not publicly disclosed.
Scent Profile
The material is described through a powdery iris character and a smooth, velvety texture. It can emphasize the soft violet-like side associated with iris while feeling more transparent and controlled than the full earthy, rooty, and fatty complexity of natural orris. Public evidence supports “iris-scented” and “velvety”; more detailed chemistry would be speculative.
Use in Perfumery
In Dance of the Dawn, Diviniris® sits in the heart with driftwood accord and pink berries, adding floral light and tactile softness to patchouli, incense, vanilla, and mineral woods. It can modernize a dark chypre-spicy structure without turning it into a conventional iris soliflore. As a captive, it should be catalogued by trade name, supplier, and disclosed sensory role. A note name records an intended olfactory effect; it does not necessarily declare that one raw material appears unchanged in the formula. The exact balance remains formula-specific, and perceived sweetness, greenness, diffusion, and persistence can change with dosage and surrounding materials. Unless the supplier or brand publishes the information, no botanical species, extraction route, chemical structure, or manufacturing process should be inferred from the name.
