About Chestnut Cream

Chestnut Cream is a reconstructed gourmand accord inspired by sweet chestnut paste and chestnut desserts. The European sweet chestnut is botanically Castanea sativa, but a perfume note called Chestnut Cream is not a fixed natural extract. It translates the nut’s floury sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel into an olfactory construction.

Scent Profile

The accord is softly nutty, powdery, and faintly woody, wrapped in sugar, vanilla, and a smooth cream-like texture. It may lean toward the toasted dryness of roasted chestnut or toward the moist density of sweetened marron paste. Unlike sharper almond, it tends to feel round, earthy, and subdued.

Use in Perfumery

Chestnut Cream gives a heart note autumnal density and connects heliotrope, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, amber, and sandalwood. Bitter citrus and ginger can supply contrast, keeping the accord from becoming flat. It is useful for creating a rich dessert association while retaining a muted woody-nut undertone. A note name records an intended olfactory effect; it does not necessarily declare that one raw material appears unchanged in the formula. The exact balance remains formula-specific, and perceived sweetness, greenness, diffusion, and persistence can change with dosage and surrounding materials. Unless the supplier or brand publishes the information, no botanical species, extraction route, chemical structure, or manufacturing process should be inferred from the name. Its catalog identity should therefore preserve the documented wording while separating verified source facts from sensory interpretation.
