About Celery

Celery is a fragrance note associated with Apium graveolens, a plant in the carrot family. The name may describe a familiar vegetal scent or a material derived from the plant. Without a specified plant part or extraction method, it does not establish the use of celery seed oil.

Scent Profile

A vegetal green note with an aromatic outline and a gently spicy facet. It can introduce an unusual aromatic character around flowers, spices and woods.

Use in Perfumery

It gives compositions a green variation alongside herbs, spices or woody materials. Seed-derived natural ingredients are also available, with aromatic, green and spicy characteristics. A fragrance’s note list, however, is not a declaration of a precise formula or extraction method.

Did You Know?

The impression of a fresh celery stalk and that of a seed-derived fragrance material need not be identical. A general celery note and an explicitly named celery seed note can therefore be kept separate while respecting the wording of each fragrance specification.
