About Beer
Beer is a note that evokes the aroma of the fermented malt drink. In perfumery it can come from an extract taken from beer itself, for example by CO2 extraction, or from an accord built with materials that suggest malt and hops. The name describes an olfactory impression rather than a specific brew or extraction method.
Scent Profile
Its core is **toasted malt** with a soft sweetness. Warm facets of baked bread, grain and honey sit alongside the gentle bitterness and green edge of hops, sometimes with a light fermented tang. In most compositions the mellow sweetness of grain matters more than any fizzy freshness.
Use in Perfumery
Paired with dry, grassy materials such as hay or chamomile, beer helps sketch rustic scenes of wheat fields and barns. With vanilla and resins it leans towards the sweetness of baked goods, while woods give it a calm, warm depth. It can take a leading role or quietly add a grainy richness behind other notes.
