About Australian Coastal Tea Tree

Coastal Tea Tree, Leptospermum laevigatum, is a native plant in the myrtle family that grows along Australia's coast. It occurs on eastern headlands and dunes, with white flowers appearing in spring and summer, providing a botanical subject for a coastal fragrance theme.

Scent Profile

Oil steam-distilled from its leaves and branchlets has a sweet, earthy character, with lighter woody and citrus tones. In a fragrance inspired by coastal flowers, it can also be described alongside salt impressions, softer flowers and a slight powdery texture, developing different aspects of the seaside setting.

Use in Perfumery

An aquatic floral composition can place Coastal Tea Tree at the opening for a fresher, more open expression. A sea-salt accord, the layered flowers of Coral Flower Accord and creamy Cocowax can accompany it, followed by patchouli and sandalwood within the warmer woody setting.
