Aqual appears as "Aqual™" at the top of Altruist by J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin. MANE describes Aqual as an aldehydic captive, a material proprietary to the fragrance house.

Cold and Crystalline

According to Luckyscent, Altruist uses Aqual to portray the almost sterile coldness of a man's sightless gaze in a painting. The retailer describes the effect as a cold, crystalline shimmer, like sunlight on a diamond, which links the material to a watery chill rather than to warmth.

Cool Before Spice

At the top of Altruist, Aqual sits with Bergamot, Lemon Essence and Ginger Pure Jungle Essence™. The heart brings Rose Superessence, Orange Blossom absolute, Nutmeg and Black Pepper, and the base lists Cedarwood, Vetiver, Patchouli and Ambramone™. Within that sequence, the cold impression arrives with the citrus, ahead of the warmer spice.
