About Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent brought the vocabulary of menswear, the street, art, and color from different cultures into couture, expanding the choices through which women could dress by their own decision rather than another person's expectation. Fragrance likewise becomes an assertive gesture for choosing a role or mood across day and night, not a tool for obeying an ideal image.

History

Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé founded the house in 1961 and presented its opening collection in 1962. It grew internationally while moving the boundary between couture and ready-to-wear, then entered perfume in 1964. The fashion business now belongs to Kering, while beauty and fragrance have operated under license with L'Oréal since 2008.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Black meets saturated color, strict line meets exposed skin, and classical references meet youth culture so that the wearer's attitude comes forward. White florals, fruit, coffee, spices, and woods can be arranged with similarly high contrast, while campaign, vessel, and naming form a single character. Freedom is not left as an abstract claim; it becomes the practical sensation of choosing how to occupy work, evening, and intimacy.

Iconic Fragrances

  • *Libre* — Lavender and orange blossom hold sharpness and warmth inside a statement of freedom.
  • *Mon Paris* — Fruit, white florals, and patchouli turn metropolitan love into vertigo.
  • *MYSLF Eau de Parfum* — Citrus, orange blossom, and woods give a contemporary self-image clear definition.
