Nishane
A Turkish niche perfume house founded in Istanbul in 2012, joining cultures, theater, and story from both sides of the city in vivid extrait-strength compositions.

About Nishane
Nishane does not reduce Istanbul to the flat phrase “between East and West.” Empire, religion, theater, food, and contemporary life actually cross in the city and provide material for perfume. The Turkish name means a mark, sign, or symbol, positioning each composition as a signature left by both person and place.
History
Istanbul natives Mert Güzel and Murat Katran founded the house with their own funding in 2012. Güzel brought sociology and publishing, while Katran combined export work with thirteen years as an actor in the Istanbul City Theatres. Their different backgrounds met in fragrance narrative and international business. Nishane presented formally to the global niche market at Esxence in 2015 and expanded as an independent Turkish house.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Old tradition is not used only as a luxurious background. Shadow theater, poetry, travel, and urban conversation can organize complete series. Many fragrances appear at extrait de parfum strength, giving fruit, flowers, tea, spices, and woods a long and clearly drawn presence. The founders provide narrative direction while different perfumers retain their own techniques, building a collection with multiple voices like a theater's repertoire rather than forcing every work into one formula.
