About MUCHA

MUCHA is a Japan-born authorized brand that does more than print Alphonse Mucha's images on products. Seasonal atmosphere, figures, plants, and decorative rhythm move into fragrance and daily experience. Its concept, “wear a revived scene,” connects memory awakened by vision with the sense of smell.

History

MASH Style Lab developed the project with the Mucha Foundation as the first brand officially authorized by the foundation. It launched in September 2023 through a Lumine Yurakucho store and official online shop, then expanded to Kyoto, a sister city of Prague. Perfumers working in Grasse and Japan, designers, and foundation materials contribute to perfume, home scent, and objects.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Curves, flowers, women, and lettering are not consumed only as generic Art Nouveau decoration. The production year, commission, and emotion within the composition are researched. Color is not converted mechanically into a note list; temperature and movement felt while viewing the art are given to perfumers for reconstruction through another sense. Authorization functions as responsibility toward source and context, not merely as a badge. Scent can then become an entrance to closer looking rather than merchandise that replaces the artwork.

Iconic Fragrances

  • *Rodo 1896* — Florals, spice, and woods translate the theatrical poster's splendor and the figure's composed bearing.
