About Moncler
Moncler turned equipment made to protect the body in the mountains into refined clothing for the city. Its fragrance practice does not reproduce nature as a postcard; it makes the distance between cold air and body heat, hard rock and soft fabric, technology and emotion perceptible on skin.
History
René Ramillon and André Vincent founded the company in 1952 at Monestier-de-Clermont near Grenoble, shortening the town's name to create the brand name. Sleeping bags, tents, and protective workwear came first, followed by down-jacket expertise developed for high-altitude expeditions. That performance language gradually entered everyday silhouette and fashion. A worldwide fragrance license with Interparfums was signed in 2020, opening a new product field the following year.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The starting principles are warmth without unnecessary weight and protection without restricting motion. In scent, these become contrasts among cold air, transparent florals, coniferous greenery, dry woods, musk, and warm amber. Light and digital display also enter vessels and retail design, keeping alpine memory from becoming rustic nostalgia and recasting it as technical, urban luxury.
