About Miu Miu
Miu Miu is the fashion house Miuccia Prada founded in 1993, born from her independent and unconventional streak. Part of the Prada Group, it is often described as her "other soul": younger in spirit than Prada, and more willing to play. The name comes from the nickname her family used for her.
History
The first collection had a cowgirl mood, with fringed suede jackets and patchwork prairie skirts. Since 2006 the women's collections have been shown at Paris Fashion Week. Fragrance came later: the Prada Group signed a fragrance agreement with Coty in 2013, and the first Miu Miu scent arrived in August 2015. The license has since moved to L'Oréal.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Miu Miu mixes a naïve, girlish charm with a quietly subversive edge. Experimentation is treated as a playground for spontaneous ideas, and the woman it dresses is individual, self-aware and a little unruly. The fragrances carry the same identity: the quilted matelassé pattern of the label's leather bags is pressed into the glass of its bottles.
Iconic Fragrances
The debut Miu Miu Eau de Parfum, a lily-of-the-valley scent by Daniela Andrier of Givaudan, is now sold as L'Eau de Muguet. L'Eau Bleue followed in 2017, then L'Eau Rosée. In 2023, Miu Miu Fleur de Lait moved away from the house's usual lily of the valley and put osmanthus at its heart. Under L'Oréal came Miutine, composed by Dominique Ropion.
