About Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela is a Paris fashion house founded by Martin Margiela in 1988. It is known for anonymity, deconstruction, white labels, four stitches, and the reinterpretation of existing garments.

History

The fashion REPLICA line began in 1994 by documenting the origin, period, and style of reproduced garments. The house launched its first fragrance, (untitled), in 2010. REPLICA fragrances followed in 2012, translating memories tied to a place and time into scent.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The house exposes seams, construction, and unfinished edges to question what a finished garment can be. Its fragrances likewise dismantle and reassemble materials, memories, and emotions. Scentsorium moves beyond memories of place toward six intense inner emotions.

Iconic Fragrances

Notable fragrances include Lazy Sunday Morning, Jazz Club, Beach Walk, By the Fireplace, Bubble Bath, and Sailing Day. Scentsorium expands the fragrance language through chapters devoted to hope, anger, awe, boldness, joy within despair, and madness.
