About Maison Louis Marie

Maison Louis Marie is a Los Angeles fragrance house founded in 2012. Founder Marie du Petit Thouars connects childhood memories from France and Belgium with a family history of botany across perfume, perfume oil, candles, and body products.

History

The house name refers to the founder's family history. Members of the family became known for botanical study from the late eighteenth century, giving the brand a background in plant classification, collecting, and gardens. After working in fashion and fine-art photography, du Petit Thouars began making candles in her kitchen. Requests from friends helped that small practice grow into the present company.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The collection uses plants, travel, family places, and memory as starting points. Numbered names, restrained labels, and clear glass create an archival visual identity. Woods, flowers, resins, and musks are generally composed at an intimate, wearable scale.

Iconic Fragrances

No.04 Bois de Balincourt, No.09 Vallée de Farney, No.12 Bousval, and No.13 Nouvelle Vague are among the house's best-known numbered fragrances. When a scent name also appears as an oil or home product, the base, size, and application method differ, so the format should be checked before purchase.
