History
The house name refers to the founder's family history. Members of the family became known for botanical study from the late eighteenth century, giving the brand a background in plant classification, collecting, and gardens. After working in fashion and fine-art photography, du Petit Thouars began making candles in her kitchen. Requests from friends helped that small practice grow into the present company.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The collection uses plants, travel, family places, and memory as starting points. Numbered names, restrained labels, and clear glass create an archival visual identity. Woods, flowers, resins, and musks are generally composed at an intimate, wearable scale.
