About Maison J.U.S
Maison J.U.S is a French fragrance house founded by three industry veterans who, after years of working for other brands, wanted a label that reflected their own creativity and convictions. The house describes its creations as “Joyaux Uniques et Sensoriels” — unique, sensorial jewels.
History
Brigitte Wormser brings an intimate knowledge of the perfume world, while Thierry de Baschmakoff has designed more than 3,000 fragrance bottles for leading luxury names. Jean-Baptiste Roux watched the industry move production offshore, so he travelled across France to meet suppliers and artisans. Together they built a house that displays “Made in France” prominently on its perfumes and on everything around them.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The guiding principle is creative freedom. Perfumers receive carte blanche, with no marketing brief and no consumer testing, and are invited to work from their own emotions and personal stories. The house is just as outspoken about ingredients: it treats naturals and synthetics as equal partners in modern perfumery and publishes its formulas in open source, so that perfume lovers can appreciate the perfumer’s work. Packaging follows the same spirit, trading clear glass, black and white labels for colour and originality.
Iconic Fragrances (or Did You Know?)
The roster mixes established names such as Aliénor Massenet, Fabrice Pellegrin and Céline Ellena with a newer generation of perfumers whose olfactory writing is often freer and bolder. Sharing formulas at all sets the house apart in an industry that has long kept them secret.
