About Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Maison Francis Kurkdjian proposes an olfactory wardrobe: rather than fixing one signature scent to a person, fragrance can be changed like clothing according to feeling and occasion. Precision, sensuality, brightness, and reinvented classicism are not treated as opposites.

History

Francis Kurkdjian, already an internationally active independent perfumer, co-founded the house in 2009 with his long-time friend Marc Chaya, whose background was in business advisory. Kurkdjian led creation while Chaya directed business and development, a complementary partnership that built collections for skin, body, and home. The house joined LVMH in 2017, expanding its international foundation while the founders retained their central roles.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Rather than displaying the largest possible number of materials, diffusion, transparency, sweetness, and the position of the trail are controlled closely so a complex formula remains intuitive to wear. French perfume technique is respected, while scented bubbles, spatial works, and collaborations with cities expand where perfume may exist. The perfumer's authorship and the wearer's room to choose are both protected. Precision does not make the work cold; it removes noise so emotion can arrive clearly and generosity can remain legible on skin.

Iconic Fragrances

  • *Aqua Universalis* — Citrus, white florals, and musk are tailored like clean light and fabric.
  • *Baccarat Rouge 540* — Saffron, florals, and amber woods form a large trail of transparency and heat.
