About Liberta Perfume

Liberta Perfume is a Japanese fragrance house founded in Nakameguro, Tokyo, in 2020. Founder and perfumer Daiki Yamane places the discovery of individual taste at the center of the house, approaching fragrance through dialogue with the wearer as well as through the possibilities of ingredients.

History

Yamane studied perfumery with Satori Osawa while working in an international consulting firm. Liberta began as a made-to-order perfumery where customers developed a scent in conversation with a professional perfumer, and later translated the experience and knowledge gained through that work into ready-to-wear collections.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The Italian word behind the name means freedom, and the house describes its aim as the democratization of fragrance. Personal preference and daily experience are treated as useful starting points rather than requiring specialist vocabulary. In its work with Japanese materials, Liberta collaborates with producers and regional industries to reconsider resources such as tea leaves, bamboo water and residues from plum-wine production, bringing their textures into an olfactory setting.

Iconic Fragrances

Chaba explores Japanese tea, while Ginjo draws on impressions associated with sake production. Ready-to-wear perfumes including Fructus and Nivalis give individual materials a distinct place within the collection, linking the house’s interest in personal choice with the landscape, craft and resources of the places from which its ingredients emerge.
