About La Nuit parfum

La Nuit parfum is a Japanese fragrance house founded in 2021 by editor and writer Mitsuhiro Ebihara. Its central idea is to translate classical music into scent, connecting the experience of listening with the experience of wearing a perfume.

History

The name comes from Maurice Ravel’s piano work Gaspard de la nuit. Beginning with Ravel, the collection grew to include compositions inspired by Scriabin, Rachmaninoff and Bach, and in 2026 the house announced new collaborations with international perfumers including conductor and perfume maker Fabio Luisi.

Philosophy & Signature Style

A musical title is not simply used as a decorative theme. The creative process considers a composer’s thinking, the background of a work, its story and its structure, then develops an olfactory interpretation through dialogue with the perfumer. Both music and fragrance unfold through time, making their progression a useful shared language. A scent can invite the wearer back to a piece of music, while renewed listening can change the associations brought to the same fragrance, allowing the two forms of experience to inform one another.

Iconic Fragrances

Scarbo interprets Ravel, and Vers la Flamme draws on Scriabin. Bach’s Chaconne and Ravel’s La Valse also appear in the collection, offering distinct ways to experience a musical work through the textures and changing presence of perfume.
