About Kate Spade
Kate Spade is a New York lifestyle brand founded in 1993 by accessories editor Kate Brosnahan Spade. Unable to find the handbag she wanted, she began designing her own, combining practical shapes with a distinctive sense of color. Its fragrances carry that interest in adding pleasure, personality and playful details to everyday life.
History
The business began with six handbags and expanded into clothing, footwear, jewelry and products for the home. Fragrance also became part of its offering, with earlier collections represented in Japan by Kawabe. In 2019, the house signed a global fragrance license agreement with Interparfums, announcing the introduction of a new line from autumn 2020. Kate Spade belongs to the Tapestry group of brands.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The house pairs polished shapes with expressive color and considered details, encouraging confidence and individual expression. Its perfumes approach that optimism through bright fruit, flowers and softer woody or musky finishes. Caps bearing the spade emblem and bold bottle colors provide a visual connection with the fashion collections. The range offers different scenes within this colorful world, from an afternoon in the city to the lights after dark and the excitement of romance.
Iconic Fragrances
Kate Spade New York centers on wild strawberry and rose, reflecting pleasure in its namesake city. Sparkle uses blackcurrant, peony and vanilla crème brûlée to suggest the city at night. Chérie brings a Parisian romantic setting to red fruit, sweet pea and an enveloping musky finish.
