About IPSA

IPSA is a Japanese beauty brand established by Shiseido in 1986. It centres on skincare and makeup, pairing its products with in-store counselling that tailors routines to each individual.

History

The brand began from a simple question: what if a shop could prescribe a beauty method made for one person alone? Just as a cook adapts a recipe to how the body feels that day, IPSA proposed that skincare and makeup could follow an equally personal approach — an idea that became the "beauty recipe" at the heart of the brand. The name itself is a coined word drawn from Latin, carrying the sense of "one's own" and "spontaneous."

Philosophy & Signature Style

IPSA describes its outlook as fullness of skin and mind, a state in which a person feels at ease with who they are. Decades of skin research inform the formulations, while counselling and in-store skin measurement guide how those formulations are chosen and combined. The emphasis falls less on a single fixed regimen than on adjusting to the skin and mood of the day.

Fragrance Products

On 10 June 2025, IPSA introduced Skin Fragrance Gel, six individual 25 mL scents applied as a watery gel that settles onto the skin rather than being sprayed. Numbers 01 to 03 are built around a refreshing impression suited to waking hours, while 04 to 06 lean toward a calmer character intended for winding down.
