History
Three designers with backgrounds in advertising founded Handhandhand in Shanghai in 2016. The idea grew out of a simple daily habit of lighting candles, so the brand started with candles, broadened into home fragrance, and later moved into perfume. The name repeats "hand" three times, once for each founder.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Handhandhand describes design as something that begins in the heart, moves through the mind, and takes shape through the hands, which it sees as the link between all the senses. Much of its process relies on handwork, with small nuances weighed by touch until an idea becomes a scent, a texture, and an object you can hold. Each fragrance is also given its own color and mood, so it can be remembered by sight as well as by smell.
Iconic Fragrances
The Spectrum of Scents, introduced in 2024, uses color to translate feelings that are hard to put into words. First Blush pairs black tea and rose with leather to capture the certainty and nerves of a first great love, Black Sheep surrounds the image of a lone tree holding its place in the flock with incense and cedar, and White Lie blends bergamot, freesia, and musk around a kindly meant lie and the colors hidden in white light.
