About Dries Van Noten
Dries Van Noten is an Antwerp fashion house known for editing historical textiles, gardening, music, and colors from different cultures into unexpected contemporary clothing. Fragrance follows the same refusal to make beauty only from matching elements: opposing materials are allowed to sharpen one another.
History
Designer Dries Van Noten established his independent label in 1986 and gained international attention as part of the Antwerp Six. Puig became the majority shareholder in 2018, providing a partner for a beauty project considered over many years. In 2022 the house launched ten genderless eaux de parfum interpreted by ten international perfumers, alongside lipstick and care products.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Flowers can meet metal, sweetness can meet bitterness, and soft textile can meet rough bark without the contradiction being smoothed away. Perfumers were not asked to repeat a single brand formula; a visit to the Antwerp garden and immersion in the archive opened individual conversations. Refillable bottles pair different materials, patterns, and colors, linking sustainability with the decorative pleasure of an object worth keeping rather than with plainness alone. The fragrance line therefore behaves like the clothing: cultivated but not obedient, materially rich but edited, and most alive where two unlikely things share the same frame.
Iconic Fragrances
- *Soie Malaquais* — Silk-like softness meets blackcurrant, rose, and cacao in a dense texture.
- *Cannabis Patchouli* — Green leaf and dark earth are set in clear opposition.
- *Fleur du Mal* — Fleshy white florals gain shadows of fruit and leather.
