History

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Gaby Aghion moved to Paris in 1945 and founded Chloé in 1952. At a time when luxury clothing was dominated by made-to-order couture, she helped pioneer high-quality ready-to-wear collections and presented the house's first show at Café de Flore in 1956. By inviting designers from Karl Lagerfeld onward, the house developed a culture that renews its idea of feminine freedom instead of freezing one founder's manner into a permanent formula.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The movement of fabric, natural color, and space around skin becomes floral transparency, gentle powder, woods, and soft musk in scent. Ornament is not the only route to luxury; the composition should live within ordinary movement while leaving a recognizable human outline. Youthfulness is treated less as an age code than as the coexistence of ease, intimacy, and independence.
